Bouncy bouncy. [Jun. 19th, 2008|06:50 pm]

OK, just a slight bit of the old ball rolling.

I grew up with Pertwee. He's MY doctor and always the 1st one who comes to mind when the name is mentioned.

This whole new concept of the young "hawt" doctor with the multiple love interests is..er..weird for me.

It's not the end of the world or anything but this new concept of the doctor as OMFG squeee! fangirl commodity is..er..messed up.

Anyone else feeling this?

Also, as a complete aside, I really have no idea if there's any truth to this at all but I'd love to see Eddie Izzard as the doctor. Love. It.

Cake or death. :)

Tom Baker was my first doctor, I lost interest after he left only occasionally peaking in. With the last 2 new Doctors I was sucked back in. I loved the expanded emotional premise of the Doctor and then of course was sucked into the spin off of Torchwood, and seeing Rose and Sarah Jane comparing notes was classic. There are a couple of occasional duds (yes I agree with you on Midnight). I guess the big hook for me was how many of the new ones tore at ones emotions and occasionally ripped ones heart out. I dunno I guess I'm liking my Sci-Fi with the occasional knife in the gut now and then now that I'm older.

Who knows, she does have her own show now, and her own companions. Even has Sonic Lipstick (where they came up with that one creation only knows). I wonder if she'd give competition to the Doctor and Torchwood with her youthful set of adventurers. A 3 way crossover would be nice but they might have to tone down the Torchwood folks for the Sarah Jane adventures audience.

i have to say id love to see eddie izzard in anything:) eexcept the riches cos that kinda sucks. also because of the riches he didnt dress in drag when we saw him, at least he had black eyeliner on:) anyway i digress, ai am a pretty new dr. who intitiate. Brian and I started watching when they brought it back with Christopher eccleston (whom i loved) and when bbc amer started showing this show 'blackpool' i had a huge crush on david tennant, then he was in harry potter in black leather and i was a puddle, and then replaced eccleston in foppish suits - the hotenss keeps coming. and he's funny and all but i miss eccelston.
i dont know if my husband watched Dr. Who before him but i haven't (who is pertwee the dude with the scarf?) if you guys tell me which series to watch ill go out and get it. i like these episodes a lot, they're creepy but light enough where i can watch without getting freaked. i loved the episode wit hthe torchwood guy, we just haven't sat down and watched it yet. ill get there:)

The riches is a great show but it's a little too tense for me..lol.

Peetwee is before the guy with the scarf and he's the bomb. :)
